FAQs

Where and when will the festival be taking place?

Convergence 2024 will occur in downtown Oshawa between September 20 and 22. Free community events will take over the downtown core live on King Street East (between Centre Street and Mary Street) from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, September 21.

Additionally, various ticketed events will occur between Friday, September 21, and Sunday, September 22. So, get yourself a hotel and make a weekend of it!​

What is NERD ALLEY and how do I get involved?

Nerd Alley is a celebration of all things nerd culture – think Cosplay, board games, science fiction and fantasy, comic books, collectables, video games – and so much more! Nerd Alley will feature interactive installations, artist meet and greets, board game demos, vendor booths, and other nerdy and awesome attractions.

How do I get involved as an event sponsor?

We are so glad you asked! Convergence is not possible without amazing community sponsors who believe in making arts and culture widely accessible to a community. To get involved as a festival sponsor, visit our sponsorship page or reach out to info@oshawatourism.com.

What if it rains?

The simple answer – you will get wet! Convergence 2024 is a rain-or-shine event. Pro tip: Bring a rain jacket and umbrella. Don’t let a little rain spoil the fun!

Can I bring my children to the festival?

Kids rock! Convergence is a family-friendly event, and children are welcome to participate. Please note that there may be 18+ content at the Punk Rock Flea Market. This area of the festival will be clearly labelled, and participants under the age of 18 should enter at the discretion of a parent or guardian.

Will alcohol be served?

Convergence 2024 is a dry event; however, those looking for alcoholic refreshments may purchase and consume them at any licensed establishment within the event footprint.

Where can I park?

Event-goers are encouraged to park on the street or in municipal parking locations - an index of Municipal parking can be found here.

Where are the washrooms?

Accessible porta-potty washrooms will be available on both Ontario St. and Centre St. See map above for locations indicated.

What time does TALK perform?

Talk will hit the Cosmic Main Stage at 8 p.m., but don't miss the action. Throughout the day, a variety of talented artists will perform on all three Convergence stages. Plan your day by viewing the full schedule here.
